[TIPS] Review PING G400 – The Hottest Driver In The World At The Time

And what is this fever made of?

The highlight of PING G400 is the lower and deeper CG, come from a tungsten weight placed behind the golf screw weight at the back of the sole. It is made from a 30% denser material than the previous G sole weight and as a result it is smaller and looks better.

G400 has 2 options: SFT – Straight Flight Technology and LST – Low Spin Technology. The head of PING G400 driver is made to be smaller and lighter for bigger speed in swings. The crown was made thinner down to 0.443mm. The T9S+ Titanium Forged Face is 6% thinner, 9% lighter and flex 16% more to increase ball speed by 2 km/h at a 170 km/h swing.

Besides Dragonfly crown just like the previous G, G400 added an “Infinity Edge” to the back rim of the sole. In general, G400 has a rounder head from behind. On the front of the crown, there are turbulators with an aerodynamic benefit wo reduce friction. These are made chunkier than before, and greatly combined with the Dragonfly ribs overall.

The hosel with adjustable loft can help a squarer launch angle and face, together with a deep CG can increase MOI, reduce spin and fly the ball further.
