Asian Tour has recently proposed the possibility of bringing the Vietnam Open back to Vietnam, signaling renewed international interest in the country’s professional golf landscape. The proposal was discussed during official meetings with Vietnam’s sports authorities and reflects growing confidence in Vietnam as a host destination for major golf events.

Proposed scale of the Vietnam Open
According to Asian Tour’s proposal, the Vietnam Open could be staged as a full-scale international tournament, featuring a projected prize fund of up to USD 2 million, a 72-hole stroke-play format over four rounds, and approximately 156 professional golfers. At this stage, the tournament remains a proposal, with timing and venue details still under discussion.
If confirmed, the Vietnam Open would rank among the most significant professional golf tournaments ever held in Vietnam, strengthening the country’s position within the Asian golf circuit.
